My name is Katie, and I am on a never-ending journey to be healthy, happy, and to make the world a better place! This is my journey to figure out how.

Star sign: Gemini! And rightfully so- I am a talker, unbelievably nosy, and I love to learn! I am youthful and am always looking to have some fun!

Current state of mind: Content. Happy.

What makes you happiest? When I am relaxing with friends and family, having some great wine and food, and having even better conversations.

How do you combat stress? I go for a walk, read, stretch, talk it out. Sometimes, when necessary, cry it out. It’s never good to hold things in!

How are you working towards becoming fit and healthy? I am constantly experimenting in the kitchen. I try to eat whole and clean foods 80% of the time. I try to be active daily, even if all I can fit in that day is sprinting up the stairs. I drink lots of water.

Do you consider yourself an open or private person? Definitely open. I wear my heart on my sleeve-you know what I am thinking and how I am feeling pretty much at all times.

Favorite indulgence: Ah geez. I have a huge sweet tooth. I eat a little chocolate every day. I try to find ways to make my favorite desserts healthier so I never feel guilty!

What do you typically eat daily? I try to listen to what my body needs. Some days, I may not eat any meat or carbs, and the next day I may be carb loading. I eat fresh fruits and veggies all the time, without fail.  I eat 3-5 times a day. For breakfast, I will usually eat an egg with Ezekiel bread and fruit. Sometimes I will have a scramble or cereal. For lunch, I may eat tuna or chicken salad or a big salad with a soft boiled egg. Dinner varies constantly- I like pasta, grilled chicken, veggies, sweet potatoes. Whatever! I love to cook.

Life philosophy: Be intelligent. Think on a grander scale-the world is SO much bigger than  you! Remember why you are here. Be kind. Get outside! Listen to your body. Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food. Be you. Give it all up to God! (Longest life philosophy ever?)

Fave Healthy Meal: Chicken and veggies. I like to mix it up with different seasonings and what not.
Fave Cheat Meal: Pizza. Always pizza.
Fave Workout: At home, yoga. If I have the means ($) to go to a class, Zumba. All. The. Way.
Can’t Exercise Without: A loose t-shirt. Maybe that’ll change when I am more fit…
Won’t Leave House Without: Sunglasses, a hair tie, LaraBar, water bottle, and day planner, all in a big ole purse.
Bar Order: If I don’t care about cals, long island ice tea. If I care about cals, I will order rum+diet, then ultimately end up with LITs lol.
Unhealthy Habit: Cheese. I love cheese. But I guess that isn’t a habit…..Eating cheese?
Perfect Weekend Consists Of: Family, love, food, and lots of nature! Anytime I am outside, I am a happy happy girl.
